Time to start some fires

It’s time!

Ever since I first wrote about the fire that Danielle LaPorte started under my (exquisite, 25 year old) ass*, you’ve have been itching to get your hands on the fiery goodness that is Danielle’s Fire Starter Sessions, right?

Now you can. The Fire Starter Sessions are here.**

Danielle is a smart operator and a very slick presenter, but she’s not about bullshit or smokes and mirrors. She’s about asking the burning questions that will help you unleash your goodness on the world.

Here is one of the most important questions Danielle asked me:

How do you want to feel?

When you walk through the door of your studio or your office? When you unlock your store, ship your product, and pick up the phone? When you cash the check, accept the award, finish your masterpiece, or make the sale…

How do you want to feel?

That question is the answer to your strategic mapping, your to-do list, your business plans, your objectives, your prioritizing.

Knowing how you actually want to feel is the most potent form of clarity that you can have. Acting on generating those feelings is the most creative thing you can do with your life.

Do you hear that? That roar in your ears? It’s the sound of your true purpose awakening. Because Danielle has a gift – she asks the questions that help us hear our own true voice.

If you are like me, you want to do meaningful things in the world. Danielle can help you see that it is possible to do what is most meaningful to you and pay the bills. If you are willing to be really honest about what you stand for, what you are good at and what makes you come alive – in other words if you can answer Danielle’s burning questions – then you’ll have found the foundation for your own world-changing form of social enterprise.

Danielle has worked with 462+ entrepreneurs in her 1-on-1 Fire Starter consults (which are $500 and booked six weeks in advance.) I’ve been recommending those 1-on-1 sessions to every entrepreneur I know, but I recognise that not everyone has the resources for that kind of investment.

Now the e-book version of the Fire Starter Sessions makes it more accessible. I also like the fact that I can make my way through those burning questions in my own time, and go back and check-in with my answers over time.

Each chapter is it’s own “Fire Starter Session” that includes: e-book components, video inspiration or interviews, and worksheets. The session I’ve already worked through is chapter three: True Strengths & The Metrics of Ease. That session alone was worth $150. The metric of ease is a measure of the joy that you are getting from your work – which in turn is a measure of whether or not you are living ‘on purpose’.

Here’s what Danielle says about that:

So many people are looking for it: their Big Life Purpose.

Becoming YOU is your purpose.

YOU are the very purpose of your existence. Realizing what lights your fire and floats your boat—THAT‘s your life purpose. What else could it be?

If it gives you true joy (not the seemingly happy-high that is fleeting, but the reliable, always-there kind of satisfaction) to rock that guitar, to make people laugh, to discover the world, to make things a little more beautiful wherever you go, to feed, to stir it up, to clean it up, to execute the plan, to bank the cash, compassionate citizenry, non-stop exploration, or pure pleasure-seeking…then, that‘s your life purpose!

Your life purpose is what you say it is.

Who could tell you otherwise?

Does that shock you a little bit? I know it shocked me. My purpose is surely to serve, and not simply to serve myself. The idea that my life purpose could be all about discovering what gives me joy was a radical and, quite frankly, suspect idea to me. But I’ve come to see that there is a profound connection between discovering what makes each of us come alive and serving the world. We serve the world best when we are fully alive and doing what we do best.

So, whether you’re in the early idea phase of a new way to serve the world and light yourself up with joy or in a well-established rut, Danielle’s thorough, witty, and experience-based advice will most certainly light a fire under your…aspirations.

*I know some of you want to know how to get the exquisite, 25 year old ass as well. For that, you’ll want to sign up for my next 30 days of yoga – which just opened for registration.

**If you decide to buy the Fire Starter Sessions through the link at the top of this post, I’ll get to join Danielle in the abundance – because she’s a woman who practices what she preaches and shares the opportunities she creates.

Yep, I love this. I’ve been thinking about this whole thing, about becoming ME – fully alive – and then serving the world best, rather than becoming who I feel obligated to become. Thanks for the encouragement.
