I’m thrilled to offer you this free video: Yoga for Writers.

I love sharing yoga with writers, because yoga helps me write. How?

One of the great challenges of writing is finding a way to be relaxed and confident while doing something (writing) that makes us feel both vulnerable and anxious. Yoga helps, because yoga is the practice of building strength while releasing tension.

Yoga also helps me pay attention, it heightens my awareness of what I am feeling and what is going within and around me. And that, in turn, feeds my writing.

And at the most concrete level, yoga helps release physical tension in my neck, shoulders, back and hips caused by spending long days sitting at my computer writting.

Who is Marianne?

I’m a yoga teacher (E-RYT200), writer and human rights advocate based in New Zealand. My memoir Zen Under Fire, tells the story of my experiences as a UN human rights monitor in Afghanistan and is available in New Zealand here, and for pre-order in the United States.
