When you start working on the really important stuff, it can take it’s toll on you and your team. When people are passionate about a cause and committed to their work, sometimes they forget to eat, sleep and exercise. Often they even forget to breathe. I’m passionate about supporting people in the humanitarian, service and social sectors to maintain their own well-being while they change the world.
My specific expertise is in using simple mindfulness, breathing and movement practices to support you and your team to better manage their stress and take care of yourselves.

I really encourage people to get out of the ‘I don’t have time’ mindset and try a specialised yoga class with Marianne. You don’t have to be a yogi, have a yoga mat, or wear special yoga clothes. I meet with you first to get a sense of what you and your team’s key well-being and stress-management challenges are and then I develop a customised questionnaire which would ideally be completed by a representative selection of the staff who are intended to benefit from this service. Depending on the size and complexity of your team, I might also do a few in-depth interviews with team members to be a better sense of their stress-management and well-being needs.
Based on the results of our conversation, the questionnaires and – if relevant – the interviews, I’ll design a stress-management and well-being workshop for your team. This will involve me coming into your organisation to lead a work-shop including mindfulness, breathing and movement practices, group and individual exercises to help your team identify their stress-management tendencies and develop their own well-being and stress-management plans.
